The Traveling Real Estate Agent
Most of the time, real estate agents market local projects. They must therefore travel within the city to make site visits with clients. In this scenario, they don’t need to travel long distances.
Usually, real estate agents aren’t required to cross state and city boundaries to do business but, they are better off if they (a.) have several houses and/or properties (generally because you have a statewide real estate MLS at your disposal) to show their buyers or (b.) are willing to travel without question. Regardless, if you are serious about making a splash in commercial, residential, land or anything else, it would behoove you to consider what you drive, moving forward.
A Collection Of Electric Transportation Real Estate Agents & Brokers Will Love!
Twelve months ago, WIRED predicted that 2022 would be a landmark year for electric vehicles. Their predictions proved pretty freaking accurate: the 18 models we recommended you keep an eye on and the ever growing waiting lists for new electric cars proved our predictions right.
Though there have been delays, the trend toward electric vehicle sales and decreasing car sales using internal combustion engines continues to expand. In the US alone, there was a 48 percent jump in electric vehicle sales during the first quarter of 2022; China experienced an astounding 113 percent surge. Fully electrics made up only thirteen percent of brand new vehicle sales worldwide in 2000; according to IAEA predictions, more than 60% will be electric by 2030.
Combine this surge in consumer interest with advances in battery technology that will result in the US seeing double the amount of electric cars with 300 or more miles of range by 2022 – it’s clear that electric car popularity is on the rise.
DeLorean Alpha 5
Real estate agents, brokers and appraisers who adore Back to the Future should settle into a recliner as we tell the tale of DeLorean’s first vehicle in over four decades. In an impressive move, instead of running on gasoline, this vehicle is now 100% electric and can accelerate from 60 mph to zero in less than 3 seconds, with a top speed of 155 mph. Thankfully, the Alpha5 is inspired by its film-star counterpart with a louvered rear window and doors that open in a gullwing fashion. The DMC-12’s bulky wedge-shaped design has been swapped out for a more refined one that minimizes drag, enabling it to reach DeLorean’s 300-mile range claim. Cambridge Audio stereo experts have been brought on board to guarantee Power of Love sounds amazing; lucky customer deliveries are scheduled for 2023. So that means the speed range from zero to 88 mph would be approximately 4.35 seconds – fantastic Scott!
Kia EV9
Unveiled in 2021 at the Los Angeles Auto Show and scheduled to hit UK showrooms by 2023, Kia’s EV9 SUV marks an important step in their transition from traditional ICE vehicles into second-tier electric vehicle contenders. This concept car boasts an integrated solar panel in its bonnet, as well as an interior made of renewable materials. Plus, there’s a “pop-up” steering wheel, 27″ ultrawide screen with panoramic sunroof and three rows of seating – all offering incredible views! The EV9 is expected to challenge Range Rover with its rugged design and potential power, offering up an all-terrain vehicle rivalry. The Kia group’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), used in the top-of-the-line EV6, will power this model. Furthermore, it is only the second Kia to feature Automode – their automated driving technology.
BMW iX1
Yes, the luxurious I7 could be BMW’s ultimate electric vehicle in 2023. However, it’s the iX1 which will become even more significant to the brand over the course of next year – replacing the beloved and deeply missed i3 as their entry-level electric vehicle option. Delivery to customers is expected in early 2023, with prices starting at $52,255 in the UK and $82,900 in the US. The xDrive30 dual motor version boasts an output of 313 horsepower and WLTP distance of up to 272 miles when using its 64.7-kWh battery. Recharging with DC at 130 kW or more allows the battery capacity to be increased between 10 and 80 percent in just 29 minutes, or 75 miles with only 10 minutes. This clever redesign has enabled BMW X1 to go from toy car to tough running vehicle in no time!
Audi A6 E-Tron
We’ve eagerly awaited the arrival of Audi’s fully electric A6 models for years; Audi first unveiled the concept at the Shanghai motor show in 2021. Audi A6 E-Tron, which will compete directly against the BMW i5 and Tesla’s Models 3 and S, will be powered by Audi’s latest PPE (Premium Platform Electric) technology, also used on Porsche Macan EV and Audi Q6 E-Tron models. One of the greatest advantages of this platform is that owners can take advantage of fast charging at 800-volts and extended range due to batteries with 100 kWh capacity, enabling distances up to 400 miles. Audi is expected to increase its embrace of doors cameras if this feature appeals to you, though headlights that project remain an option as well. Furthermore, the 600-bhp RS6 E-Tron and Avant estate models are expected to launch shortly.
Tesla Cybertruck
Fans of Elon Musk or those who just find the concept odd may be pleased to know that his sci-fi vehicle will be available for consumers in the second half of 2023. Yes, we’ve seen it before – other Tesla vehicles have also experienced massive delays. Tesla insists the Cybertruck production will proceed as expected – regardless of if it takes several years longer than anticipated. Meanwhile, the Austin, Texas Gigafactory is said to be ready to start “early production” and plans are to gradually increase output until its full operational status by 2023. Customers who purchased the truck for just $100 will be hoping Musk delivers on his promises of quality service: 14,000lb towing capacity, sub-3 second zero-to-60 acceleration and a range of up to 500 miles. They’re also watching closely for cost; Musk claimed the vehicle would start around $40,000; however, these prices have since been removed from the website.
Lucid Air Sapphire
After getting up close and personal with the Lucid Air Sapphire, I can confirm that it has more personality than its aerodynamically-friendly jelly mold style might suggest. Lucid has created a four-door electric vehicle designed for high performance with three of their impressive motors (instead of the Air’s standard 2) that combine to generate over 1,200 horsepower in the Sapphire version – possibly even more! Despite its weight of 2.5 tons, the electric vehicle is expected to accelerate from rest to 60mph in just two seconds. It then accelerates towards 100mph within four seconds and reaches quarter-mile mark in nine. Rimac Nevera-level hypercars will set you back $2.1 million, while the Sapphire comes with carbon-ceramic brakes, a stiffer suspension and custom Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires for around $249,000 plus seats in the back as well.
Ford’s 2023 “Medium-Size Crossover” Electric Vehicle
At present, little information about Ford’s electric vehicle (EV) is available. But why include it in this article? We’ve had the chance to view it up close and think that it will be highly popular among European customers, where it is currently being built. It’s safe to say this SUV is inspired by certain design traits of the iconic Ford Explorer; some might even call it a Mini-Me version of this popular SUV. Ford recently unveiled the “Medium-Size Crossover,” which many speculate could be the vehicle Range Rover will ultimately release with an electric motor, should people decide to take a chance on. In 2024, Ford will begin production on an all-electric Evoque and Discovery Sport model at their Cologne facility which will transition from making Ford Fiestas to producing only electric vehicles.
Hyundai ICONIQ 6
We’ve been fans of Hyundai and Kia’s recent offerings for some time, and the most recent offering due in early 2023 is no exception – the sporty yet sleek Ioniq six. Aerodynamic electric vehicles (EVs) are appealing due to their extra space. The Ioniq 6 has a sleek profile with subtle Porsche 911 vibes, but comes with four doors. This combination results in an astonishingly low drag coefficient of 0.21, making it one of the most aerodynamic automobiles on the market. Hyundai is now able to get up to 338 miles out of their long-range battery pack when using a single motor rear-wheel drive model. The all-wheel drive version, featuring two electric motors connected to the rear and front axles, delivers two39 kW – equivalent to an estimated zero-to-62 speed of 5.1 seconds. Plus it boasts the group’s powerful 800-volt battery system for superfast charging; however we advise against purchasing one if its side mirrors come with digital options.
Fisker Ocean
Coming in 2023, one of the most alluring electric SUVs is Fisker Ocean. Find out all about it by watching this video: Fisker Ocean If you’re keeping tabs, the Ocean was our pick for this year’s contest; unfortunately, its release has been postponed. We regret to inform you that our enthusiasm for the Electric Vee continues unabated during this wait. The 17.1-inch display inside the cabin features Hollywood Mode, which, when activated, changes the screen between landscape and portrait mode for passengers to watch streaming movies while their battery continues to charge up to 391 miles. Charging takes only 3 minutes from zero to 60 miles! Don’t forget about the full-length SolarSky roofing, which in full sun exposure provides drivers with up to 1,500 miles of emissions-free driving annually. Plus, its bidirectional charger can power your house for seven days and help other EVs that need it. California Mode allows all eight panels of glass (including “Doggie Windows”) to open simultaneously at once to turn your vehicle into a “convertible.”
Toyota Prius 2023
If an agent or even an appraiser wants to keep things simple and efficient, the ever reliable Prius is still v-rooming the streets of a neighborhood near you! You may even think to yourself, “how about that sleek and modern new Prius”? You’d be right to do so. The auto industry nearly shut down with this announcement! Previous Priuses–Pri-i?s?–have long been seen as unremarkable, with their unassuming shape and normcore aesthetic. But this 2023 iteration looks positively sleek in comparison, though we won’t make a final judgment until we see the car up close and personal. It could potentially improve on the design which was previously inadequate. Though not a full electric vehicle, this hybrid still uses electricity and combustion to run. Toyota claims to achieve 57 mpg – making it the most efficient Prius ever – while solar panels are included to recharge the battery when stationary. Other innovations include free-hands operating mode.
Mini Aceman
Although the Mini Aceman Concept was unveiled earlier in the year, its final version won’t be unveiled until 2023 (we won’t get to test drive it until 2024). The Aceman makes this list due to its tough urban crossover SUV design that differs significantly from Mini’s classic styling. Let us hope Mini sticks with this concept as closely as possible in future releases. Mini states that their concept design is “80 percent accurate” in regards to its final appearance. They add: “This concept serves as a preview of what the complete final design will look like.” Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW Group’s designer director, noted at the unveiling that their next model “will take inspiration from this collection of designs.” He continued by noting that while one model may draw inspiration from this collection, many more would follow. BMW’s Aceman will sit between their Cooper and Countryman models, boasting 13 feet in length and less than 6.5 feet wide – exactly identical to the current Countryman model. The Aceman will be built using the same system as the “classic” 3-door Mini, set for release in 2014, plus a complete redesign of its design. This could translate to a range of less than 300 miles; however, we hope for an increase in this number.
Jeep Avenger
Small SUVs are in high demand, especially when they can be fully electric. As such, Jeep (like Ford above) is looking to gain European dominance with its new Avenger that will hit the roads at the beginning of 2023. With 150 horsepower and front-wheel drive, it may not seem like a typical Jeep, but a four-wheel drive version is on the way. The Avenger is the next-generation sibling vehicle of Peugeot 2008 and Vauxhall Mokka, set for production in Poland alongside other Stellantis models as well as smaller SUVs from Alfa Romeo and Fiat. Stellantis’ CMP platform can produce up to 154 horsepower and 260 Newton meters of torque with the single motor variant, while its battery of 54 kWh with fast charging at 100 kW should enable full charge from 20 to 80 percent in 24 minutes. Range is estimated at 249 miles (or 342 miles in stop-start traffic).
VW ID.7 Concept Car (Aero B)
Take note of this: The VW ID.7 four-door will be produced as the version of VW ID. Aero, which in turn is derived from the ID Vizzion concept car. Are you still with us? Excellent. Glad to have you here with us. VW ID.7 will be built upon the MEB+ platform, offering significant advancements in automated driving as well as increasing charge rate to 200 kW (from 177.5 kW) and increasing WLTP range by 100 miles to 435 miles (700 kilometers). On the road ahead, one-motor RWD and dual motor AWD models as well as the GTX variant that will accelerate from zero to 62 mph in just 5.6 seconds are expected. Meanwhile, single motor models will reach that speed in 8.5 seconds. Furthermore, 200 kW chargers can charge for 10 minutes adding around 143 miles; additionally there has been talk of ID.7 with bidirectional charging capability.
Xpeng G9
Recently, Chinese brand Xpeng unveiled the G9 “smart SUV”. This was their fourth vehicle in their new lineup following saloons P5 and P7 as well as smaller G3i SUV. The G9 G9 will be the flagship model of the brand, boasting all of their technology. RWD Standard Range models boast 308 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque, enabling speeds from zero to 62 mph in just 6.4 seconds with a claimed range of 354 miles. For even longer driving range, there is the RWD Long Range model of the G9. All-wheel drive models such as 650X Performance, 650E Performance and Launch Edition 650X are also available with 543 horsepower and 717 Nm of torque. The claimed time from zero to 62 is 3.9 seconds, with a range of 403 miles. These cars feature lidar for driving assistance as well as street-level navigation. Charge rates up to 408 kW are possible, meaning up to 124 miles can be added within five minutes with an 80 percent charge achieved in just 15 minutes – making the G9 the world’s most efficient electric vehicle. Music lovers will appreciate Xopera, a “5D multimedia device” equipped with 28 audio speakers and boasting a power output of 2,250 watts.
Polestar 3
Orders for the Polestar 3 can be placed now; however production will not begin until summer 2023. It boasts the classic Scando style, which helps conceal its size: 4.9 meters long and 2.1 meters wide. Yet it still manages to look sporty and attractive thanks to a low drag factor of only 0.29. Inside the car, a 14.5-inch touchscreen displays powered by Google operating system provides the primary benefit compared to Polestar or Volvo, as well as 5 radars, 5 cameras externally and 12 ultrasonic sensors – providing driver assistance security features you’d expect from Volvo’s rival marque. With a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins surround sound audio system, you’re guaranteed an amazing listening experience. Plus, its battery of 111 kWh can carry you for 379 miles – meaning plenty of time spent driving your vehicle! No need to spend a lot of time charging with this fast DC charger; with rates as high as 250 kW, a 10 to 80% recharge will only take 30 minutes. Not only that, but if speed is what you’re after – enjoy lightning-fast wireless Internet access while charging! The Performance Pack boosts power to 510 horsepower with torque of 910 Nm, accelerating you from zero to 62 mph in just 4.7 seconds and providing an upper speed limit of 130 mph. If you’re interested in the 7-seat EX90 Volvo variant built using this same technology, it will be available until 2024.
Lotus Eletre
In 2022, Lotus introduced their stylish all-electric SUV, Eletre. This all-electric model comes equipped with triangular panels interconnected in the front that close when necessary to reduce aerodynamic drag; however, these automatically open to allow air into the radiator, cooling motors and batteries, packs or front brakes if required. When the car is locked or unlocked, its active grill “breathes” when the door handles slide out to open and close its panels. Looks pretty fancy. This 600 horsepower 373-mile electric vehicle stands out in several ways, not least of which is its retractable lidar which enables self-driving capabilities. Plus, with only 350 kW charging time, the Lotus will reach a range of 248 miles within just 20 minutes! KEF audio systems come in both 1,380-watt 15 speaker versions and the 2,160-watt 23 speaker “Reference” option if you have spare ears. One note for prospective purchasers: Lotus has repeatedly delayed the Evija release date, so when we announce 2023 for this car, we are placing our hopes on slightly higher ground.
Experience the ultimate luxury with Rolls-Royce Spectre.
Rolls-Royce may appear to be hesitant in entering the world of electric cars, but it has been an affiliate member of BMW Group since 2003. Given BMW’s apparent embrace of electric vehicles, it was no surprise when Rolls-Royce unveiled their Spectre coupe – their first electric vehicle. What sets this model apart from others is that it was entirely designed as an electric vehicle from scratch. A brand-new aluminum chassis has been installed to give owners of the company’s vehicles a smooth yet quiet ride. A predicted 300 miles range and acceleration time of 4.4 seconds are remarkable for a car measuring 5.5 meters long and weighing nearly 3 tons. Furthermore, as mentioned earlier in this list, cutting through air is key for electric vehicles; which explains why it’s said that the Spectre boasts the highest aerodynamic Rolls-Royce ever made.
